Shady Lane, a Palo Alto original, has provided a wonderful showcase for the distinctive talent of local and international artisans for over 35 years.Shady Lane was founded in 1975 by local artisans Alice and Rick Deutscher to offer their own creations, and is still owned by the same artisans to this day! Shady Lane specializes in sterling silver jewelry accented with semi-precious gemstones, pearls & fossils. Stunning locally designed 14k & 18k jewelry featuring precious gemstones is also showcased. At Shady Lane you can browse hand blown glass art, ceramics, woodworking and textiles. Often you can discuss these unique treasures with the artisans themselves, many of whom help in the store.
A wealth of gift items from around the globe include hand blown glass, Native American jewelry and Zuni Indian fetishes, bronze, sculptures, carved rock animals, wood netsuke and specimen quality rocks and fossils.
Shady Lane has an extensive collection of jewelry featuring sterling silver and 14K gold designs highlighted with gemstones, pearls, gold, niobium and brass.
The collection at Shady Lane is carefully hand selected and beautifully displayed in a relaxing atmosphere.
