I had the nicest experience at Shady Lane while shopping for a piece of jewelery for a gift. The staff were so welcoming, as soon as I walked in the door. They Also spent much time with me while I was making my decision on what piece to purchase. An oasis in the commercial desert! For many years this has been my first stop for unique handcrafted gifts, including the occasional gift for myself. Jewelry is my favorite, but there are so many other things,from lamps to toys, many with animal themes. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and shop here before heading to the mall.

This is one of those rare, special places Palo Alto still has left. The array of jewelry and other gifts they have is fantastic. I've shopped here for many, many presents, and the recipients are never disappointed. The staff is also very friendly and the atmosphere of the place is very calming. A true gem!
