Channing House is an independent, not-for-profit Life Care Retirement Community located in a quiet residential neighborhood near downtown Palo Alto. Founded in 1964 by Dr. Russell Lee of the Palo Alto Medical Clinic, our superb location offers easy access to the best that Palo Alto, Stanford, and the Peninsula have to offer. We provide three levels of care. Our Independent Living apartments provide full services including three restaurant style meals per day, weekly housekeeping services, all utilities, van transportation, telephone, Cable TV and Internet access in all apartments, maintenance services and a full schedule of cultural, entertainment, fitness and educational activities to keep residents healthy and active. Physicians from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation are available on site for our  Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Communities. Nursing staff is on site around the clock to respond to any emergency, and provide necessary care.
