Free The Children empowers children in North America to take action to improve the lives of fellow children overseas. Our local leadership initiatives bring leadership and inspiration to tens of thousands of youth in the US and Canada. Our international projects, led by our adopt a village program, have brought over 650 schools and school rooms as well as water projects to communities around the world.

Working with over 70 Youth In Action groups throughout the state of California, the Palo Alto office of Free The Children offers mentoring, support, and guidance to young people who are looking to make a difference in the world.

In addition to taking part in yearly campaigns, students can book motivational speakers to come to their schools, volunteer overseas, or come to the Take Action Academy, a week-long overnight camp all about social justice and activism.
