How to Build A Crystal Radio An Interactive 4-Day Workshop at the Museum of American Heritage 351 Homer Avenue, Palo Alto Class dates are Saturdays April 7, 14, 21 & 28 1:30-3:30pm **Students must attend all 4 days of the workshop** Students learn radio history dating back to Tesla and Marconi, as well as basic radio theory, modulation, headphone function and how to read schematics. Beginning Electronics: A hands-on class, students learn what electricity is, how to control it, and how to read a schematic diagram. Students use these ideas to assemble an electric circuit. This take-home project can teach students to send/receive Morse Code without wires or the Internet. Age 10+. Nov 2, 9, 16. 1pm-4pm. $65 Members/$75 Non-members.

Electrostatics & Electromagnetism: Learn the basics of the early electrical sciences (starting from early experiments with static electricity up through the discovery of electromagnetism) via integrating science and history, many hands-on demonstrations, and the construction of take home projects. Methane- It's a Gas in Gaia's Breath (November 7th at 7 PM) This talk is sure to be a gas with organic geochemist Keith Kvenvolden. Keith will discuss and illustrate methane gas - what it is, where it comes from, why it is important and what to expect in its future. September 26th at 7 PM: Norris Pope outlines the North American history of the Arriflex 35, the influential professional motion picture camera introduced in the 25 years after World War II. This talk will explore the ways in which this camera encouraged changes in how feature films and television projects were made. Lectures are free to Museum members. $10 per person for non-members.

The Museum of American Heritage (MOAH) presents the 9th Annual Vintage Vehicles and Family Festival (VVFF) on May 4th from 9:30am until 2:30 pm. Located at the Museum of American Heritage, 351 Homer Avenue in Downtown Palo Alto (between Waverley and Bryant). This free annual community event is being hosted in collaboration with the City of Palo Alto’s 91st May Fete Parade & Fair.
